IEEE Technology for Health Summit 2017

The 2017 IEEE Summit, Technology for Health: Transforming Healthcare and Wellbeing, brought together policymakers and leaders in the healthcare, medical technology and electronics industries, as well as expert patients, in order to facilitate a dialogue on healthcare enabled by connected technologies.

The Summit tackled the issue of innovation in healthcare, focusing on innovative wearable, bio-sensing and implantable technologies and their impacts on societal transformation. Sessions also addressed the resulting ethical concerns and behavioural challenges linked to these transformative technologies, and reflected on the key roles of R&D, standardization, as well as policy and regulatory actions in creating the right conditions for bringing cutting-edge technology innovations to market for societal benefit.
