On October 1st, 1884 engineers worldwide gathered to share their technical ideas. October 1st 2019 is the 10th year celebrating this historic event. Today thousands of IEEE members in local communities join together to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. IEEE is the world's largest professional association with more than 425,000 members worldwide dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. We inspire a global community through technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE Houston Section has been serving the greater Houston metro area since August 7, 1928, that's more than 90 years and more than 4,000 members.
IEEE Day in Houston was celebrated on October 29th, with a little Halloween fun and a Chocolate tasting paired with wine and food. This year we partnered with Tony Najjar, a former IEEE member and the owner of XOCOLLA Artisan Chocolate.
