Dirk Robert Englund (unable to attend) receives the IEEE-HKN award for Outstanding Young Computer and Engineers at the 2012 EAB Award ceremony held in Austin, Texas on February 15, 2013.This award was created in 1936 to recognize young computer and electrical engineers (and those in related fields) whose service to mankind is manifested not only by achievements in purely technical pursuits, but also by other means. Dirk Robert Englund has definitely earned this award by his hard work and dedication to his work. He has excelled in the fields of applied physics, applied mathematics, and electrical engineering. He has done major work in the field of Quantum optics and Photonic-Nano Structure.
