President-Elect Karen Bartleson announces IEEE Honorary Membership to Serge Haroche for meritorious service to humanity. The IEEE Board of Directors recognize Serge Haroche for his ground-breaking experiments, making quantum engineering a reality. AlthoughHaroche was unable to attend the ceremony, the audience honors his achievements with a round of applause.

Bartleson then presents Professor Rodolfo Zich, a leading scientist in electromagnetic wave scattering and antennas, with an IEEE Honorary Membership for excellence in engineering and global contribution to research and education. Professor Zich created a worldwide network of cooperative efforts with over 50 participating universities from all continents, he also started the International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications.
