This talk will overview the co-design design of circuits at the carrier frequency, signal frequency and in digital baseband for linear high-efficiency microwave transmitters. In specific, we will focus on the characterization of the power amplifier needed to determine the parameters of the supply modulator and linearization circuitry. Experimental examples of S-band and X-band transmitters will be presented.
