Power Added Efficiency (PAE) Analysis with 8990B Peak Power Analyzer

Power Added Efficiency (PAE) is one of the fundamental test and analysis in power amplifier design. PAE is also important in power amplifier’s Envelope Tracking (ET) development. This short presentation will show how the Agilent 8990B Peak Power Analyzer (PPA) can help power amplifier designers and test engineers performing PAE test with ease. The 8990B PPA will allow the users to capture RF power and DC power traces, view them and measure out the PAE result, all in one test instrument. The PPA will also able to zoom into certain segment of the captured traces and compute the PAE result.
