The 35th International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP) was held at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, March 14 – 19, 2010. ICASSP is the world’s largest and most comprehensive technical conference focused on signal processing and its applications. The conference featured world-class speakers, tutorials, exhibits, and over 120 lecture and poster sessions on a host of topics.

Roychowdhury looks at Social Networking in a historical context, and considers among other factors the new scale and speed of global networking made up of billions of web pages, Tweets and Facebook users chatting, sharing, posting and consuming media.
