The supply modulated RF PA becomes a powerful technique for mobile handset application. The modulator can provide the supply voltages suitable to the power levels with high efficiency. We will show the efficiency enhancements for a standard PA and a low-high mode PA. For the purpose, the modulator should be designed for a large dynamic range. This modulator is designed as a power management IC form to adapt the battery voltage fluctuation with high efficiency over a large dynamic range.
