In this presentation from the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2016 in Mexico, IEEE representatives share how TAWASOL (which means connectivity in Arabic) is creating an internet-empowered next generation throughout Tunisia by connecting people to the internet – starting with schools.
Working with IEEE SIGHT (Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology) and the People Centered Internet, TAWASOL aims for a level of basic proficiency in the community about the internet and how it can be used to expand opportunities for students to learn and grow, as well as to allow students to learn to use the internet with practical applications that increase services for the community.
