Developing Point-of-Care Technologies

What are the most important issues we face regarding the widespread adoption of point-of-care medical technologies?  We were wondering the same thing.  That's why we put Dr. Atam Dhawan on the spot this month.

In addition to his role as the conference chair of the IEEE-EMBS Special Topic Conference on Point-Of-Care (POC) Healthcare Technologies, Dr. Dhawan is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a member of SPIE, ASEE and Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society. His current research interests are medical imaging, multi-modality medical image analysis, multi-grid image reconstruction, wavelets, genetic algorithms, neural networks, adaptive learning and pattern recognition.
