The IEEE in 2030 Ad Hoc Committee, working on behalf of the IEEE Board of Directors, continues to make progress on the strategic objectives that emerged from the January 2015 Board retreat to create a nimble, flexible, forward-looking organization.
Regular, face-to-face meetings, punctuated by socialization with members of the Board as well as other volunteers and members, have resulted in valuable feedback. This feedback has continuously informed revisions of a potentially new governance structure for the IEEE. This effort was originally motivated by recognition from the IEEE Board of Directors at the January 2015 Board retreat that the current governing structure is not as effective or efficient as it could be, and change can help the organization as it moves toward the year 2030.
The IEEE in 2030 committee has received questions and additional feedback about our plans for communicating the proposed governance changes. Join us for a live Q&A Session with Howard E. Michel, Ph.D., 2016 IEEE Past President and members of the IEEE in 2030 Ad Hoc Committee on Wednesday, 11 May, from 7:00 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET (23:00 to 24:00 UTC-04).
This will be an open session, and all who are interested are encouraged to participate. The session will also be recorded, and posted to IEEE.tv
