Rashaunda Henderson discusses her frustration with the lack of female engineering professors at the universities she has worked at over the years. She joined IEEE to help the effort to recruit women into the engineering field.

IEEE works tirelessly to recruit young people into the various interdisciplinary fields of engineering. Women represent only 20% of engineers in the United States alone, and female minorities only constitute less than 10%. The IEEE's Women in Engineering series explores the careers and works of prominent female engineers and showcases what the IEEE is doing to recruit more women into the field.

Rashaunda Henderson, a professor of engineering at the University of Texas and Dallas, discusses the lack of female professors amongst her colleagues.
