A group of female engineering students describe the work they are doing at the CARIS Lab at the University of British Columbia. They describe how far the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence industry has come and the importance of their presence in the field as young women.

IEEE works tirelessly to recruit young people into the various interdisciplinary fields of engineering. Women represent only 20% of engineers in the United States alone, and female minorities only constitute less than 10%. The IEEE's Women in Engineering series explores the careers and works of prominent female engineers and showcases what the IEEE is doing to recruit more women into the field.
