This panel discussion was recorded at the IEEE Women in Engineering East Forum on 2 December 2017.

Abstract: Mentoring and knowledge transfer continue to gain importance as current industry experts retire and the next generation of technical professionals enters the workforce. There are many paths to successful mentoring. A panel of women at various stages of their careers discusses mentoring, bringing perspectives influenced by their experiences. Topics include identifying mentors/mentees, formal versus informal programs, what is unique to female mentoring, and how to successfully perpetuate knowledge transfer. As there is no one prescribed path to mentor/mentee success, this forum will provide options for all engineering professionals to consider as they progress in their careers.

Panelists:

Deb Borgerding, Systems Engineer Architect, Northrop Grumman
Sarah Lyon, Systems Engineer, Northrop Grumman
Carly Aderton, Systems Engineer Architect, Northrop Grumman
Lindsey Kostkowski, Systems Engineer, Northrop Grumman
