Femtosecond Removal of Cardiac Tissue with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Mass Spectroscopic (MS) Assesment

An approach based on the combination of femtosecond laser tissue removal, Optical Coherent Tomography (OCT) imaging and Mass Spectroscopic (MS) analysis is applied to cardiac tissue removal surgery. The spatial accuracy of the femtosecond laser tissue removal and the tissue specific MS fragmentation is demonstrated. The tissue specific regions of MS spectra are identified. The tissue classification utilizing Support Vector Machine was performed.
