Power Electronics in PV-Systems: Status and Perspectives
IEEE's Power Electronics Society has been hosting Webinars nearly once a month as part of an ongoing series. These educational Webinars go into great depth about current issues in the developing projects of electrical engineers, such as methods of providing sustainable energy and the mathematical algorithms and calculations involved in making such energy sources work properly. Dr. Uffe Borup delivers a presentation exploring the recent developments of PV inverter technology, citing examples of both lowered cost and increased efficiency in recent advancements. He also goes into his expectations for the future developments of PV inverter technology. Dr. Uffe Borup earned his PhD in Power Electronics from Aalborg University in 2000. He co-founded Powerlynx in 2001, where he worked extensively in the field of PV and solar inverter technology development. Powerlynx was sold to Danfoss Solar Inverters in 2007, and Dr. Borup is currently the director of Innovation and Technology at Danfoss Solar Inverters.
Dr Uffe Borup gives a presentation on the development of Photovoltaic (PV) inverters over the years and predictions on how they will continue to develop in the foreseeable future.
