Affordable Internet Access Devices Through E-Waste Recycling -- 2022 IEEE Connecting the Unconnected Challenge
Edwin Mugume presents his team’s project, Affordable Internet Access Devices Through E-Waste Recycling, which proposes to exploit e-waste from desktop computers, laptops, and related devices by harvesting useful components and reusing them to create computers in good working condition. These computers are then repackaged and branded for reuse in communities that require affordable computers for Internet access.
Their solution was awarded the 1st PLACE Community Enablement Concept prize.
