Over 200 participants produced the IEEE Planet Positive 2030 compendium  “Strong Sustainability by Design: Prioritizing Ecosystems and Human Flourishing with Technology-Based Solutions.” Core concepts and regenerative solutions from the compendium provide insights and incentives that inspire the IEEE Planet Positive 2030 Communities program and committee. In this session, speakers from the Communities Committee describe work in Miami, Florida, USA, and Cali, Colombia, that focuses on including local stakeholders in bioregional solution design. 

Scarlett Lanzas and Mike Matthews (Co-chairs of the IEEE Planet Positive 2030 Communities Committee): The Miami community is supporting the Florida Green Schools PTSA’s project focusing on increasing edible food recovery and supporting scalable zero‑waste strategies in public school systems.

In Cali, Colombia, the city of the seven rivers, Davíd González, president of Imzadi Consulting and a member of the PP2030 Communities Committee,  is working with the Rotary Club of North Cali to focus on the cleanup and beautification of the River Cali and its banks.
