Scientists and engineers are using satellites and remote sensing technology to document, analyze and solve global problems. The Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS), is a project that is going to gather information from space about the Earth and the environment. It will shae that data with researchers around the world, to hopefully benefit the Earth in areas including weather forecasting, disaster mitigation, energy resources, and ecosystem management and protection. This video interviews scientists and engineers working in the field who explain the capabilities and benefits of GEOSS and how this is just the beginning for technology like GEOSS.
