AJung Moon is a founder of the Open Roboethics initiative (ORi), an international roboethics think tank. ORi explores roboethics questions in the domain of self-driving vehicles, care robots, and lethal autonomous weapons systems. AJung is also a Vanier Scholar and a Ph. D. Candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Canada. As an award-winning researcher in human-robot interaction, she specializes in design and implementation of nonverbal behaviors (hand gestures, gaze cues) that robots can use to better collaborate with people. She believes that answering the question “What should a robot do?” can be a highly creative process that involve active discussions between designers, engineers, and members of wider stakeholder groups.
