Matthias' first encounter with amateur radio was through his grandfather, who would always setup antennas first when he came for a visit. Being more interested in building electronics than accumulating radio contacts, he prefers holding a soldering iron rather than a microphone. Matthias holds a MSc in Communication Systems from EPFL (2012) and still hopes he will learn proficiency in receiving morse code before retirement age.
