Satya Brata Das

Biography

Satya Brata Das is a seasoned leader with significant expertise in addressing climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience. Trained in economics and political science, Das spent the last quarter of the 20th century as an influential journalist and the first quarter of the 21st century as a strategic advisor to leaders in the public, private, and philanthropic sectors. He served as the first Global Chair of the Washington DC think tank The Digital Economist. He is founder of the policy and strategy advisory Cambridge Strategies Inc.  He currently serves as Chairman of the healthtech firm baune.io and Vice Chairman of the climate finance enterprise Green Powerhouse.

At the IEEE SA (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Standards Association), he helps develop international standards as Chairman of the Working Group on Environmental Liability, and as a member of the Working Group on professional practices addressing the climate emergency. His forthcoming (October 2026) book The Manifesto of Hope evokes IEEE SA’s Planet Positive 2030 as the indispensable engineering blueprint for better human and planetary outcomes. His home base is Edmonton, Canada.
