Abstract: Motivating young girls to embrace their full potential and tap into endless possibilities is key in growing our future female leaders. During this session, we will discuss how to incorporate activities through education, workshop demos, and best practices for engaging young students. We will also share successful methods to create awareness and common ground with young students. Connecting through social media and current consumer technologies is key to making a link with your audience. We leverage the use of stories that are widely known in social media, movies and characters that demonstrate female heroism. We discuss some character traits such as strength, knowledge, innovation, and life skills that can be used to work through challenging obstacles. We will demonstrate some of those essential characteristics and correlate them with STEM activities. We will also share live demos of projects and materials for STEM activities.
