Marina Ruggieri

Biography

Ms. Marina Ruggieri is a Full Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Roma Tor Vergata and a member of its Board of Directors. She is the IEEE 2017 vice president of Technical Activities, and past director of IEEE Region IX. In addition to her work the University, Professor Ruggieri is proboviro of the Italian Industries Federation for Aerospace, Defense and Security (AIAD), a member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the Center for Aeronautical Military Studies, and has been vice president of the Roma Chapter of AFCEA (2006-2015). She co-founded and chairs the Steering Board of the interdisciplinary Center for Teleinfrastructures (CTIF) at the University of Roma Tor Vergata. The Center, which belongs to the CTIF global network, focuses on the use of information and communications technology (ICT) for vertical applications by integrating terrestrial, air and space communications, computing, positioning, and sensing. She is also the principal investigator of the 40/50 GHz TPD#5 Communications Experiment on board Alphasat (launched on July 2013).
